So last night was our 80's party at the church. It was really fun and we had a lot of laughs. But this post isn't about the party. Nope. This post is about what happened leading UP TO the party. I had been telling the boys ALL DAY that we had a party at the church in just a few hours. Please clean up the living room. I will fold all the laundry and take care of all the food and wash all the dishes but PLEASE CLEAN UP YOUR TOYS in the living room.
Couldn't be done.
So Grandma Jeana calls us up on skype. I have to be in here so they don't turn off the computer or change the language to ancient egyptian. So Andrew comes in and Grandma tells him he needs to help mom clean up and take care of his toys (totally didn't sink in, but I apprciated the effort.) Myles and Jack come in with the same results. WHILE we are talking to Grandma about keeping the living room clean Jack tells us AJ is playing in the cool whip. SILLY me I think, "What cool whip? I don't have any cool whip," instead of getting up and rushing in there. So about one more minute goes by and then I finally process: if they're telling me AJ's into stuff, he probably is! D'oh!
I rushed in the living room and yup! There is AJ COVERED in cool whip (sorry, I wasn't in the mood to take pics.) and the stool I put together YESTERDAY is also covered in cool whip. And the walls, the floor, some clean laundry on my bed, my beside table, and some cups that were, oddly enough, scattered around an otherwise cool whip free kitchen. I picked him up to show Grandma-- which would have been hilarious if I hadn't had to then clean everything up. And get ready for a party. Which when I finally got AJ and me out of the shower and told the boys to get ready they replied, "What party?" ARGHHH!!
Good news is when we got home from the party it only took me about an hour after they went to bed to get the living room floor uncovered and clean enough for Sunday. :) The boys were then amazed and thought cleaning fairies came while they were sleeping.
A list of random events in our lives, written with some creative insight or perhaps just lack of sleep induced hysteria.

Day number 4
Almost ready to move to week number 2!! Yippee! I'll be happier when that's week 22.
Andrew was watching cartoons with his brothers while I made dinner today. They were watching one about kids in a contest helping a bear find his Mommy because he was sad. When I called them into dinner he was fine, but as soon as we all sat down ready for prayer he just started balling. He said, "I don't like that part where the bear missed his Mommy!" Then he got embaressed that he was crying and said, "I just need to snap out of it." And that made me almost start crying. I don't think I tell him to do that. Do I? I tell him he needs to simmer down when they bounce off the walls. I tell them they need to 'just stop' throwing fits and talk to me. But I hope I don't tell him to 'snap out' of his emotions. Ack! The problems with being a parent. He could just be made because he wanted to watch a cartoon out of the "Girl Power!" selection on Netflix and he was voted down. They actually really wanted to watch Gumby. Until it started. FREAKY! Seriously I think it would do mental damage to kids brains if they watched the whole thing.
We did have some fun today. I ordered new toy boxes and a kids stool the day Greg left in a bid to 'loose myself in shopping.' (It didn't work, but I did blow my budget. D'oh!) Anyway the stool and the toy box came today. I decided to put them together. How hard can it be? Well, just to tell you I hate vague instructions and drilling my own screw holes. Yikes. I was so worn out by the time I finished I didn't even put any toys in the toy box. And I think I have a blister on my thumb. I would have totally pushed this project off on Greg had he been around. I guess that adds to my life experience and I can be happy I accomplished it, right?

Disney World
"I is a pirate!"-- AJ
Jack LOVES Star wars. The ride was closed, but we got to meet some scary people anyway.
So as many of you know we went to Disney World for our family vacation. Santa brought us tickets and we left 2 days after Christmas. We miss the warm weather-- it sure was nice.
1st let me say it was a TON of fun. But there were SO MANY PEOPLE!! And it was like a marathon getting 4 boys from ride to ride from park to park. Would not do it again soon. That said, the boys LOVED it. Although our first day there Andrew said, "When are we going home?" twice. Yeah, we have 4 little homebodies. But they do really well on road trips so that saved us. :)

Going private
So I'm going to change my blog to private. I know all of you are thinking: "Why? She never posts ANYTHING!" but I hope to change this. I'm going to be doing more of a journal thing for the next few months as we are a family divided for awhile. Let me know your email address and I'll add you. This is mostly for the 3 people who read my blog. You know who you are. Oh, wait if your reading this your one of those 3...
